On Iran, which side are you on?

On Iran, which side are you on?

A very simple question!!
Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, July 5, 2019 - Which side are you on? A simple question, with a deep meaning, asked throughout the history, when fascism was spreading across the world, when the Holocaust occurred, during the War in Vietnam, and when a young French man had to choose between his mother and his country…
A simple question that has inspired dozens of musicians to compose memorable songs. Every one of us faces this question once or many times in our lives and our responses to this question shapes our future, our lives, and ultimate destination. Every man, woman, boy or girl, young or aged, has to choose a side, and history will define the righteousness or wrongness of this choice. History is indeed the greatest judge.
When we look at Iran, we can clearly hear the echo of this question: which side are you on? On one side are the ruling mullahs, with 40 years of terrorism in the Middle East, political assassinations abroad, daily torture and execution of innocent citizens, political purge and massacres such as the summer 1988 execution of 30,000 political prisoners, and state-conducted misogyny through the so-called police of integrity.
On the other side, are the Iranian people and their resistance movement, who have been on the receiving end of the tyranny of the mullahs who suffered and paid the price with their tears, blood, and lives?
Are you on the side of those brave people who took to the street in January 2019, and yearned for freedom and regime change in Iran?
Unfortunately, despite the clear voice of the Iranian people, some governments choose to continue chasing the dream of moderation and banking on the so-called moderate faction of the regime.
Yet people of Iran put an end to this illusion by chanting, “Reformists, conservatives, the game is over” during their protests.
Grappling with social crisis and facing the consequences of its warmongering and aggressive regional and international policies, the Iranian regime sees its imminent downfall.
On the other hand, the people of Iran and their organized resistance, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), enjoy political support across the globe, and vast social support within Iran and its resistance unit who operate on a daily basis are ready to take this regime down.
The strength of this resistance and its network has paralyzed and wounded the Iranian regime, and like a wounded wolf, it tries everything to survive. This includes terrorist plots including the foiled plot of bombing the Free Iran gathering in Paris, in July 2018, on the very same day that its president was in Europe to discuss trade.
The regime is trying to impose this illusion to the world that they must accept this moribund and disastrous regime and there is no other alternative. To this end, it engages in a widespread and costly demonization campaign to discredit the Iranian resistance.
Yet, the sacrifices and honesty of this movement and the price it has paid makes it impossible to deny the obvious fact that it is a democratic alternative, led by a tireless woman, Maryam Rajavi. It is empowered by a vast network of resistance units and huge support amongst the most distinguished politicians who abide by humanitarian values and know the importance of this resistance rather than vie short-lived economic interests.
On June 15, addressing the participants of the March of solidarity in Brussels, former Italian foreign minister Giulio Terzi chided European states for continuing to seek out so-called reformists in Iran and said, “The MEK and NCRI, the main force of opposition against this regime, are advancing every day. Yet still, some in Europe pretend there is no alternative to the regime. There is a viable alternative. It is the National Council of Resistance of Iran."
"It is important in this critical juncture of what is happening in the Persian Gulf today that we stand here and support the rights of the people of Iran," Terzi added.
Therefore, as the regime loses ground in the battle with the people of Iran and their resistance, it sinks deeper in the swamp of misery. The world shall stand on the right side of history by supporting the Iranian people and their resistance, not the regime and its homemade phony alternatives that aid to direct attention away from where the real solution stands.

As nationwide protests and strikes continue across Iran, entering their ninth month of continuous uprisings, and at a time where the cry for regime change and freedom is echoing throughout Iran; Iranian communities in over 20 capitals and major cities across Europe and North America, will come together in a new innovation, on Saturday, 25 August, in a joint, interactive conference to commemorate 30,000 political prisoners who were executed in the 1988 massacre in Iran.
The nationwide popular uprisings today, are the continuation of the aspirations and paths of those fallen for freedom in 1988. Those who said ‘no!’ to the henchmen and sacrificed their lives for freedom in Iran.
The Iran protests derive from deep roots within such sacrifices, and now, intertwined with the Iranian resistance, the chimes for regime change have been rung. The roots of the nationwide uprisings and its prospects will be discussed in this international conference.
The conference, which will bring together thousands of Iranians in Europe and North America for the first time  online, is part of the international campaign seeking justice for the victims of the massacre. A campaign which was launched two years ago with a call by Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, and demands an independent inquiry by the UN into the massacre, putting an end to the impunity of the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre.  A massacre which has been highlighted by human rights NGOs, experts and defenders, as one of the worst crimes against humanity since World War II.
Perpetrators of this massacre are now among the highest officials in the regime and are directly involved in suppressing the uprising.
Thousands from across the Iranian diaspora and representatives of Iranian Associations, along with prominent international social and political personalities will gather in Paris, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Rome, Oslo, Brussels, Bern, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Bucharest, Helsinki , Gothenburg, Aarhus, Stuttgart. Survivors and relatives of the massacre will also share their experiences and observations with the participants.
Congressman Patrick Kennedy and a number of European lawmakers, will be among the participants at the Paris conference.
This international gathering of the Iranian communities will begin at 5 pm CEST and 11 am EST and will be broadcasted live in Persian, English, French and Arabic on social network and websites of the Resistance and Iranian communities.

Background information
In 1988, based on a fatwa by Khomeini, more than 30,000 political prisoners who were serving their sentences were executed for standing their grounds in defense of democracy and human rights. To expedite the executions Khomeini formed three-member death committees throughout Iran to sentence the prisoners to death within a few minutes. The victims, most of whom were members of the PMOI, were buried in mass graves. So far, no independent international investigation has been carried out in regards to this massacre, and the perpetrators of this terrible crime have never been brought to justice.
In an audio recording which was revealed in 2016, Hossein Ali Montazeri, Khomeini's successor at the time, explicitly tells the Death Commission in Tehran that what is being carried out is the most heinous crime of the Islamic Republic in Iran’s history. In April 1989, Khomeini dismissed Montazeri for his opposition to the massacre and wrote after me you would give the country to the liberals and through them to the PMOI/MEK. In June of that year, after the death of Khomeini, Ali Khamenei became Iran’s Supreme Leader.
In recent months, many human rights organizations such as Amnesty International have presented reports on the 1988 Massacre, calling for investigations in this regard and have called for urgent reaction to the destruction of mass graves by the mullahs.

Iran Regime Arrests Family Members of the Victims of 1988 Massacre

Family members of the martyrs of the 1988 massacre arrested
Simultaneous with the 30th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in 1988, and while the nationwide uprising continues, the ruling religious fascism in Iran, in fear of the rise in Justice-Seeking Movement, has arrested a number of families of these martyrs.
In an instance in Gorgan, a number of family members of martyr Mohsen Mehrani, including Dr. Mojtaba Mehrani, dentist and 67 years old, Masih Mehrani, 62, and ladies Sousan Mehrani, 55, Mohaddaseh Mehrani, 50, and Elnaz, 28, (daughter of Mohaddaseh Mehrani), were arrested on July 19, 2018. There is no news about the detainees. Mohsen Mehrani was executed in 1988 during the massacre of political prisoners in Gorgan prison.
Iranian Resistance calls on all the people, especially the brave youth, to protest these arrests and show support and solidarity with the prisoners of the uprising. It also asks the Security Council, the Secretary-General, the Human Rights Council and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and other relevant international bodies, as well as the European Union and the member states, to take immediate action to free these innocent individuals and other arrestee in the uprising, the names of many of whom have been sent by the National Council of Resistance (NCRI) to concerned authorities. A number of those arrested during the past months have been killed under the brutal tortures of Khamenei’s murderers.
